A Vision for the Future of General Practice

Our virtual conference explored the future of general practice – designed by and for members, the conference offered a forward-looking compass for general practice. Bringing together evidence, insight, and lived experience to explore what the future holds for the workforce, models of care, digital health, funding, leadership, and professional influence.

A Vision for the Future of General Practice was not about reacting to change after it happens. It was about recognising the leadership, influence, and advocacy inherent in being a GP, and reclaiming professional confidence in the role general practice plays in society. Whether you are seeking direction, renewal, or insight into emerging ways of working, this conference was an invitation to step back, think boldly, and reconnect with why your work matters.

Why delegates attended

Look ahead, not just today

Delegates explored the future of general practice, from workforce and funding to leadership and digital health.

Connect across careers

Registrars, early career and established GPs shared insights, mentorship, and collaborated

Lead and influence

Delegates developed the skills to become a system leader, innovator, and advocate within general practice.

Reignite your purpose

We engaged with content that reminds us why general practice matters, and how your work shapes patients and communities.

This year's conference was designed to equip you to thrive in the next era of general practice, not simply survive it. It was a space to lift your gaze beyond the pressures of today and gain clarity about where the profession is heading, and how you can play a meaningful, sustainable role within it. Just as importantly, it connected that vision to practical optimism—grounded pathways that support career longevity, wellbeing, and impact across every stage of a GP career.

What were your conference takeaways?
