Dr Helen Garr is Medical Director of NHS Practitioner health, a national service supporting healthcare professionals with mental health and addiction difficulties and thought to be the largest of its kind in the world. She is a recognised expert and leader in the field of wellbeing and mental health and has dedicated her career to supporting healthcare professionals. Helen is also a GP in Nottingham having worked for many years in student health at the University of Nottingham. She is a former nurse, Public Health England Clinical Champion for physical activity, Director of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine and has a background in psychology. She is known for her engaging and energetic speaking abilities, speaking extensively nationally and internationally and her commitment to compassionate leadership and kindness in healthcare.
