Dr Serge Engamba

GP, NIHR SPCR GP Commercial Research Fellow, University of Exeter

Dr Serge Engamba is a General Practitioner in Norwich and an NIHR School for Primary Care Research GP Commercial Research Fellow at the University of Exeter. His work focuses on strengthening primary care research capacity, advancing commercial research in general practice, and creating pathways for frontline clinicians to engage in high-quality research.

Serge leads and collaborates on studies exploring relational continuity of care, addiction and dual-diagnosis pathways, and innovative models of research delivery in underserved communities. He is Deputy Chair of the Primary Care Academic Collaborative (PACT) and plays an active role in national efforts to increase GP leadership in research design and conduct.

His portfolio includes building research-ready infrastructures in practices, developing partnerships across industry, academia and primary care networks, and championing inclusive approaches that bring research opportunities closer to communities who rarely access them.
